Manuela - Healed of Scoliosis

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17 Although the sacrifice of Jesus was more than enough, God continued to reveal to Manuela his abundant kindness, healing her of scoliosis even when she had lived with it for so long.

During the fall of 2011 in a prayer meeting, there was an alter call from the pastor for people that had ailments to come up for physical healing. Specifically, he felt that someone was going to be healed of scoliosis. A group of people went up to the front and the pastor prayed a general prayer of healing. Because I had lived with scoliosis for so long, I didn’t think that person could be me. I was scared of hoping in being healed and then not getting it, so I didn’t go up but instead prayed for other people to get healed. Suddenly, I felt my spine move. It was so unexpected, but in that moment, I knew that the Holy Spirit was doing something powerful. Since then, my life has been completely different.

Although I was healed instantly, I’m starting to see that walking in healing takes a lot longer than I thought. I could now sleep on my back, but then I would forget and sleep in an uncomfortable position anyways. Also, I can stand up straight now, but forget and slouch. Right now, I’m in the process of getting used to a fixed spine and am in the process of strengthening my back muscles so that I can keep walking in healing.

Where there was disorder, there is now order. Where there was pain, there is now peace. I didn’t have any control, but my spine literally shifted. God was my chiropractor. However, this time around, it wasn’t temporary, it was full restoration. That night, God was so generous and healed me even when I didn’t ask.
